A woman accused of felony theft was arrested again when she was caught allegedly stealing again. This time, it was in a Cobb County courtroom.

Rebecca Eloise Cooper, 37, of Austell, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly taking a man's wallet containing two debit cards during Cobb County Superior Court, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC. The incident, which happened between 10:20 and 10:30 a.m., was captured on the court's surveillance cameras, the warrant states.

Cooper was arrested by a sheriff's deputy in the courtroom and charged with theft by taking and credit card theft. She was booked into the Cobb County jail, where she spent five nights before being released Monday evening after posting $5,000 bond, according to booking records.

Cooper, who is also listed in court documents under the last name Simpson, is still facing charges from an October arrest, court records show.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC, Cooper is accused of stealing two gold necklaces worth $2,200 from a woman's purse in August. She then allegedly sold them to Austell Pawn and Gold for $420, the warrant states.

In that case, Cooper was charged with felony theft by taking and theft by deception, a misdemeanor. It was not immediately known if Cooper was in court Wednesday in connection with the October arrest.
