The Georgia Department of Transportation will continue replacement of damaged concrete slabs on I-985 and I-85 northbound near Buford beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4. The work will result in continued lane closures on both highways.

Traffic will be reduced on I-85 northbound approximately half a mile before the I-985/I-85 interchange. I-985 will also be reduced to one lane while the damaged concrete slabs are removed.

Lane closures associated with this project will be continuous from 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7.

This project is a rapid response project that will replace 39 damaged portions of concrete roadway. The project was awarded to Precision 2000 for the contract amount $186,000.
