Ronald Ron Kostamo submitted a photo of a beautiful castles he saw on a trip to the British Isles. “The magnificently situated Urquhart Castle, on the shore of Loch Ness, was once one of Scotland’s largest castles,” he wrote. “It saw great conflict during its 500 years as a medieval fortress. Control of this most picturesque castle passed back and forth between the Scots and English during the Wars of Independence. Perched on the banks of Loch Ness, it commands great views up the length of the loch, and is one of the main sites for reporting sightings of the legendary Loch Ness Monster.”
