Committee to study potential tree ordinance
Avondale Estates is seeking 10 to 12 volunteers to comprise a committee researching a new tree ordinance.
The city has a commercial tree ordinance but none covering residential property.
A 30-page 2007 draft of an ordinance was ultimately rejected because of too many restrictions on residents. Mayor pro tem Terry Giager said that re-examining a potential ordinance is driven by “a number of properties in the city where developers are clear cutting.”
