College Park is expanding its public safety surveillance system.

Iron Sky Inc. has partnered with the city's police department and five local hotels that provided rooftop access to help double the city’s wireless footprint.

The expansion involves the addition of 11 street-level surveillance cameras and a video intelligence center where the cameras can be monitored.

Funding for the project comes from a Community-Oriented Policing Technology grant. New patrol car laptops also will be included.
