College Park emergency coordinator honored

The emergency management coordinator for College Park’s fire department recently earned a rare national certification.

Tami Fowler was the sole Georgia leader to earn the Associate Emergency Manager certification. There are just 1,400 professionals with that honor nationwide, according to the International Association of Emergency Managers, which oversees the program.

Fowler has worked in public safety for 16 years, including the past six with College Park. In addition to her role with the city, she also serves as vice chair for the Fulton County Local Emergency Planning Committee.
