Georgia Piedmont Technical College recently honored a DeKalb County Commissioner for her work in promoting sustainability and “green” efforts in the county.
Kathie Gannon received the 2012 Investing in Dreams Award for her work on the county’s recycling program, working to create DeKalb’s Green Commission and for various events to promote and educate residents about environmental initiatives.
The award was given as part of the 50th anniversary of the college, formerly known as DeKalb Technical College.
