If you think it’s already cold in metro Atlanta, bundle up more. More cold is on the way, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

Temperatures on Tuesday reached the upper 40s, but a cold front will bring temperatures down into the 30s on Wednesday.

"A cold front will come through tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow morning, bringing in temperatures in the 30s," Nitz said.

Sleet and freezing rain are possible as precipitation moves through the area, he said.

"A little precipitation approaching from the west and some cold air from the north, that will give us a chance for some wintry mix," Nitz said.

Thursday and Friday will be cold, but dry, Nitz said. Thursday’s high is expected to reach the upper 30s before temperatures reach the middle 40s Friday, he said.

Another round of frozen precipitation could hit the metro area this weekend, Nitz said.
