Certain closed businesses in Cobb County will not have to pay their personal property taxes.

Approved recently by the Cobb commissioners, the write-offs of $1,013,489 cover delinquent and uncollectible taxes from 2010 to 2015, Cobb Tax Commissioner Carla Jackson wrote in a November memo to County Manager David Hankerson.

All attempts to collect outstanding taxes in person, by phone, mail and Internet access have been unsuccessful, she added.
