Vivian Simms says it doesn’t matter to her whether anyone gets in trouble. She just wants her dog back.

The woman told Channel 2 Action News that her Shih Tzu named Sassy was stolen from her Mableton home along with other items.

She said that when she walked into her Susan Drive home on April 19, she noticed her television, vacuum cleaner, a toolbox and jewelry were gone.

She saw another one of her dogs, Khan, but not Sassy. So Simms called out for her. Nothing.

“I ran around screaming for her ... and her bed was gone,” she told the TV station. Some of her toys were gone, too.

Simms later found a window had been broken.

“You took my heart when you took her,” Simms said.

Since then, she’s filed a report with police, put up fliers giving a description of her 8-year-old dog and checked shelters, according to Channel 2.

If you have information about Sassy, call 678-662-8559.

For now, Simms is leaving food and a bowl of water outside in case Sassy comes back.

“I don’t care about anything else that was taken. All that matters to me is Sassy. I just want to get her back,” she said.
