When Cobb police officers arrived, the man had gone back into his apartment at the Columns at Akers Mill complex, and refused to come out.

A woman and a 4-year-old boy who were also inside the apartment were unharmed.

The man, whose name has not been released, was charged with domestic violence and cruelty to children.
