Alison Bartlett, the  chairwoman of the Cobb County Board of Education,  is recovering from a heart attack, according to a fellow board member.

Bartlett, a math teacher in Douglas County, represents parts of south and west Cobb.  Board member Kathleen Angelucci said Bartlett suffered a heart attack Wednesday morning and is resting at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

"We are relieved to hear that Mrs. Bartlett is doing well," Cobb superintendent Fred Sanderson said in a statement Wednesday. " We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back at the head of the board table as soon as she is able."
