Two Cobb public information meetings are planned at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 20 to discuss upcoming facility renovations for transitional housing and supportive services for homeless veterans.

Cobb County Community Development Block Grant and Zion Keepers, Inc. staff will host the meeting about the proposed use for Cobb’s Rose Garden facility, 1861 Teasley Drive, Smyrna.

In October, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved the lease agreement between Cobb County and Zion Keepers, Inc. for use of the Rose Garden facility for homeless veterans.

With no impact to the county’s General Fund, the lease includes an initial five-year term with three five-year renewal options for a nominal lease rate of $10 per year.

Zion Keepers Inc. will provide case management services, life skills education and counseling - all for homeless veterans.

The organization will be responsible for all facility repairs, maintenance, upkeep and improvements to the property while maintaining adequate amounts and types of insurance as approved by the county.
