Cobb EMC offers free overnight home electric vehicle charging

Cobb EMC has announced it will offer consumers free overnight charging of electric vehicles at their homes.

The company’s NiteFlex rate offers its customers up to 400kWh per month to charge their vehicles from midnight to 6 a.m.

“We’ve invested significant resources into market research to better align our rates with the lifestyle our consumers want and the affordable and flexible commutes they need, all at a price that makes sense for everybody,” said Peter Heintzelman, president and CEO of Cobb EMC.

Cobb EMC said the rate will benefit users will also benefit users who shift their high-energy usage to later hours and adopt smart home appliances to “create more functional, economical and energy efficient homes.”
