Cobb residents are invited to voice their opinions on 32 pages of proposed changes to the Cobb County Code at hearings at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 and 7 p.m. Feb. 28.
Also, the Cobb County Planning Commission will host a public hearing at 9 a.m. Feb. 7.
Changes would:
- Allow the serving of alcoholic beverages at senior facilities.
- Reduce restaurant seating from 40 to 20 as a minimum where alcoholic beverages are served.
- Remove restaurant patio restrictions to no longer require complete enclosures.
- Require special land use permits for noncommercial clubs or lodges on residential property, fraternity and sorority houses, residence halls and cemeteries for people or animals. That means public hearings and votes by the Cobb commissioners.
- Create a unified senior housing code.
- Allow a fee to be charged for donation drop box registrations.
