Cobb County on Thursday announced it has reopened a portion of Old Stilesboro Road in Acworth.

The road between County Line and Cheatham roads is back open to traffic.

Cobb County said earlier this week that it had to close the road because Allatoona Creek spilled from its banks and reached the side of the road.

“Green flag back up on Old Stilesboro Road,” the county said Thursday. “Allatoona Creek has dropped, (and) the water is no longer on the roadway. So Old Stilesboro in far west Cobb is back open for your (safe) motoring pleasure.”
