As the holiday season winds down, Cobb residents are invited to “Bring One for the Chipper” and recycle their Christmas trees on Jan. 8 at several locations around the county.
The recycling event is sponsored statewide by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Keep Georgia Beautiful program and locally by Keep Cobb Beautiful. Recycled trees save landfill space, and are used for making mulch for local schools and parks.
There will be 13 Cobb sites manned by volunteers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. accepting trees. No other items will be accepted.
To find a nearby site or to volunteer at a site, visit Keep Cobb Beautiful at http://kcb.cobbcountyga.gov, or call, 770-528-1135.
