Author and mentor Ken Carter will be the keynote speaker at Families First's 14th Annual Dining for a Difference  fundraiser  Wednesday at the Loews Atlanta hotel .

Coach Carter, whose life was told in a 2005 film, will share his story as a face of fatherhood for young athletes he coached in Richmond, Calif.

The event, which is sold out, will also honor father figures who have played a unique role in the lives of youth.

The men being recognized are Manny Nuñez, who is part of the nonprofit's "Make it Click" positive youth development mentoring program; and Grady Jenkins, a former Families First staffer who remains a father figure to many young men who were in organization's foster care group homes.

Last year, the event  raised  $365,000.
