Authorities seized more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $3 million along with $282,000 in cash during raids Tuesday on a warehouse in Forest Park and a house in Riverdale.

The bust is part of an ongoing investigation of Mexican drug traffickers operating in Clayton County, according to the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.

That office,  along with the Forest Park police department and other agencies, followed leads that took investigators to the warehouse at 4698 Lake Mirror Place in Forest Park.

Investigators followed a van suspected to be carrying marijuana from the warehouse to a residence at 5585 Eagle’s Feather Lane in Riverdale, authorities said.

Investigators searched both locations and seized about 1,000 pounds of marijuana from the Riverdale house and another 1,000 pounds from the warehouse, according to authorities.

Authorities said they arrested Alejandro Lopez Frenandez, 37, of Jonesboro; Jesus Lopez Ochoa, 30, of Riverdale; Luis Apolinar Duran, 24, of Forest Park, and Marco Antonio Carmona Donis, whose age was not immediately available, of Forest Park.

The men were charged with trafficking in marijuana.
