Clayton hosting summit on digital learning

Clayton County Schools is hosting a two-day regional education summit today and Thursday. The Future Ready Regional Summit is a part of Pres. Barack Obama’s ConnectED initiative which is aimed at helping students and teachers make a smooth transition to digital learning. The Clayton summit is being held at the S. Truett Cathy Professional Learning Center in Jonesboro. Participants are here from across metro Atlanta and the state. The summit focuses on curriculum, instruction, and assessment; professional learning for teachers and administrators; technology, networks, and hardware; budget and resources; data and privacy; and scheduling and time constraints. The Clayton event is one of 12 slated to be held . It also provides time for participating teams to develop plans for using technology to improve and personalize student learning. With more than 53,000 students, Clayton schools is ranked among the 100 largest school districts in America and is the fifth largest school system in Georgia.
