Clayton County wants to hire a permanent community development director after going without one for more than two years.

The search has been narrowed down to three candidates: Anthony Carter, Atlanta’s assistant director for planning and community development; Kc Krzic, a Clayton County zoning administrator and Eric Lacefield, Villa Rica’s deputy administrator for utilities.

The community affairs director oversees planning, zoning, inspections, building permits and business licenses. Alex Cohilas, the chief of staff for Clayton County, has served as interim director since Donnie Hood died in February 2008.
