Clayton Finance Department earns national award

Clayton County’s Financial Department has garnered national recognition. The Government Finance Officers Association awarded the department a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013. Commission Chairman Jeff Turner congratulated Chief Financial Officer Ramona Thurman and her staff on their award at this week’s commission meeting. GFOA is a network of about 18,000 federal, state, provincial and local finance departments in the United States and Canada.
