A traffic stop in Meriwether County led to the capture of a drug trafficker wanted in Clayton County, said police.

Karl Archibald Tulloch, Jr. was arrested Thursday after officers with the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Department stopped him on Interstate 85.

As officers stopped him, Tulloch presented a false Georgia Drivers license. Investigators on the scene were able to positively identify him.

Officers with the Fugitive/Investigation Unit along with the U.S. Marshal's Regional Task Force, and the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office Interdiction Team handled the arrest. Information from the Fugitive/Investigative Unit and the U.S. Marshals led to the arrest.

Tulloch has been wanted by the Clayton County Sheriff's Office since Oct. 2004 on an offense of trafficking cocaine. More details were not immediately provided.

A warrant was released for his arrest after he failed to appear in court. Tulloch has been avoiding arrest since.
