Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services and SCANA Energy hosted a fan giveaway Thursday at Atlanta City Hall. More than a hundred seniors collected their fans and learned ways to stay cool and healthy this summer.
In its 10th year, the program provides 1,000 fans to to low-income and elderly residents.
In addition to the fan giveaway, three cooling stations will be open 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m. Monday -- Friday throughout the summer:
