Charlette Green, the director of special education in the Cherokee County School District, has been named the 2011 Outstanding New Special Education Administrator by the Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education.
Green was given the award by the council at its spring meeting in Athens on March 20. She was awarded for her "motivating, energetic and dynamic" attitude and for having high expectations for her students.
Green has worked in special education for 14 years, including the past two as director of special education for the Cherokee County School District.
