The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing for March 19, its second meeting in March, on adding eight streets to the list where parking is banned.

They are Roscoe Collett Court, Maudlin Lane, Transart Parkway, Rabke Road, Wedgewood Falls Drive, Deercreek Drive, Ansley Court and Waterfall Way.

The measure updates a county parking ordinance originally enacted in October 2017, bringing to 14 the total number of streets where parking is prohibited.

It applies “where the parking of vehicles creates a public safety issue and/or areas where the parking of vehicles creates traffic flow/access problems for communities and neighborhoods,” according to the ordinance amendment.

Parking would be barred except for emergency purposes. The measure would take effect immediately upon passage.
