While capacity limitations mean no middle or high schools in Cherokee County will be available in the 2018-19 school year for reassignment and transfer requests from outside their attendance zones, 14 elementary schools are “open.”

Classroom space is available at these schools, including most STEM and Fine Arts Academies, to accommodate students from other attendance zones, the Cherokee County School District announced.

The district is accepting reassignment/transfer requests under its Education Choices policy through March 1, officials said. Information and application forms are available at: http://cherokeek12.net/forms/

There will be no separate enrollment window this year for the STEM and Fine Arts schools, so requests to enroll children in them must be made now, officials said.
