Two men have been charged in connection with thefts at a cemetery and baseball field in Cherokee County.

Arnold Fricks, 23, of Canton was arrested Monday and charged with felony theft by taking and burglary, Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said. Fricks is accused of stealing eight brass vases from the Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery between May 13 and 17. He also allegedly broke into the Macedonia baseball concession stand and stole baseball equipment and apparel, an iPod docking station and a first aid kit.

Dustin Chastain, 17, of Canton was arrested Tuesday after some of the stolen items were found at his house, Baker said. He was charged with two counts of felony theft by receiving stolen property.

Fricks remains in the Cherokee County jail. Chastain was released Wednesday morning on $11,400 bond.
