Mike Brown, a Canton artist who specializes in painting wildlife, won the Massachusetts Primitive Wildlife Stamp Competition with a scene of two white tailed deer, which the state will reproduce on its 2011 hunting license stamps.

Brown has distinguished himself with a number of first- and second-place winners in contests sponsored by wildlife conservation organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, and he was a finalist in the BBC International Wildlife Artist of the Year contest in 2010.
