Following guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state of Georgia, Canton city officials say they are upgrading facilities and will begin opening them to the public on June 1.

During May, the city will construct physical barriers in customer service areas, officials said in their monthly newsletter. New customer service windows will limit contact, and air-handling systems will be updated. Information: https://bit.ly/2AqRsyh

The Canton Farmers Market will open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June 6-Oct. 24, at Brown Park. Safe social distancing will be practiced, and participants initially will be limited to growers, prepackaged foods and prepared food vendors, officials said.

"Once we have a few weeks under our belt, the market will be reassessed, and then we should be able allow artisans, crafters and service vendors in July," according to the market's website. Information: https://bit.ly/3csvzwx
