Brookhaven Parks and Recreation shut down Skyland Park’s atletic fields last week to provide rest for the playing surfaces and fix areas that need re-sodding. Those areas will remain closed through Aug. 30.

This week Lynwood athletic fields’ work will take place through Thursday. The fields will remain closed through Sept. 6.

Signs are displayed to inform the public at each park. The fields will need 4-6 weeks of rest to establish the grass and no foot traffic is permitted.

The fields at Skyland and Lynwood are used for open-use passive recreation opportunities for the public along with rental opportunities for specific user groups and their programming.
