Brookhaven park construction shuts down Cartecay Drive

Decatur’s commission recently approved seven streets for milling, patching, repairing and resurfacing in 2017. The priority list is largely determined by the “Road Surface Management Pavement Condition Evaluations System,” also used by the Georgia Department of Transportation, or if a street looks like this. Last week Brookhaven closed Clack’s Corner Park at 1410 Cartecay Drive. Now the small portion of Cartecay Drive in front of the park will be closed through Thursday for work on a drainage project for the park.
The closure will not impact any residential driveways.
The park will be closed for six weeks for construction which includes a monument sign, community lawn, play area and new benches. Motorists should use alternative driving routes to avoid delays.
