A Mattie's Call has been issued for a 56-year-old man with brain damage, the Fulton County Police Department said Friday.
Luis Valencia has not been seen since May 26 at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was reported missing Thursday by his brother, police said.
The man told authorities that he last saw Valencia around 2 p.m. May 24 at home, but Valencia was gone when the brother returned from the store, Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Kay Lester told the AJC.
The brother said Valencia has a history of disappearing for a day or two but always comes back, Lester said.
After searching, the brother discovered Valencia had signed in at Grady on Saturday but was not treated, Lester said. The man believes his sibling, who has a fear of hospitals, may have been taken there by someone, she said.
Valencia is described as a Hispanic male, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. When last seen at the hospital, Valencia was wearing green sweat pants, a navy blue jacket and white Nike boots.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Fulton police at 404-613-9130 or 404-613-6600.
