Ten Fayette County student musicians were invited to participate in the 69th Annual University of Georgia JanFest, a pioneering band invitational established in 1950 for high school students. The participants are (McIntosh High) Zachary Moore, Amy Buckalew, and Matthew Shatto; and (Whitewater High) Mason Rzepkowski, Emily Harris, Courtney Wagner, Pritica Patel, Baylie Bates, Lilly Gable, and Ethan Earl. Under the direction of professional musicians, these students performed alongside 1,000 other students from 130 schools at the University of Georgia Jan. 17-20.
Neidy Rodriguez Hernandez of Alpharetta received a Bachelor of Arts Education Studies from Berea College in December.
Anirudh Mustyala from Norcross graduated with a Master of Science degree from Southern Arkansas University in December.
Matthew Henderson of Carrollton and Erin Koch of Norcross graduated from Community of Christ, Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa in December.
Obike Ibeka of Powder Springs graduated from Bismarck State College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Process Plant Technology in Fall 2018.
Clayton Thomas Hostetter of Roswell graduated from Baylor University in December.
Uloma Owunta of Atlanta graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in December.
