Four metro area teachers: Brandon Ledford from Ithica Elementary School in Villa Rica, Lori Sidenbender from Villa Rica High School, Alex Wilbanks-Bennett from the University of North Georgia in Gainesville and Morgan Montgomery from Louise Radloff Middle School in Duluth were selected to attend the White House Historical Association's exclusive, "White House History Teacher Institute" in July.

Kami Alford of Kennesaw and Sohail Ali of Fayetteville graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in May.

Njambi Karobia of Powder Springs graduated from University of the Sciences in May.

Donte' Hayes and Meghan Yacinthe of Kennesaw, Eleanor Ginn of Covington, Lauren Hermeling of Sandy Springs, William Thomson and Mary Katherine Brake of Atlanta, Jennifer Vess of Stone Mountain, Becca Scadden of Roswell, Suman Rijal of Marietta and Cameron Sims of Peachtree City graduated from the University of Iowa in the spring.

Elsa Akou Wottor of Lithonia from Albright College in the spring.

Riley Henning of Atlanta, Jawara Mills of Woodstock and Joshua Walker of Atlanta graduated from the University of San Diego in May.

Allison Giddens of Marietta was selected as a 2019 Community Hero by the Atlanta Braves. She was recognized for her contributions to the community as founder and president of the Dave Krache Foundation, an organization she started that pays fees for children who want to play organized sports but whose parents cannot afford it.
