No injuries were reported in a Thursday morning apartment fire that Sandy Springs authorities said was caused by a child playing with a lighter.

The blaze damaged one unit at the Harbor Pointe complex off Morgan Falls Road, according to Sandy Springs fire Deputy Chief Jeff Scarbrough.

A second apartment in the eight-unit building sustained water damage, Scarbrough said.

He said investigators had determined that a 6-year-old boy playing with a cigarette lighter started the fire.
