A boil water advisory has been lifted for Canton residents, city officials said Tuesday afternoon.

The advisory had been in effect since Sunday following a water main break.

The water main break effected areas west of I-575, including downtown Canton and an area from Ga. 140 north toward the City of Waleska, according to a release from Canton.

Crews completed repairs on the pipe and restored water service just before daybreak Monday. The boil advisory was lifted at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday.

The water main break occurred early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
