The body found in DeKalb County woods was a 21-year-old man missing since December, police said Thursday night.
Children found the body of Christopher M. Bennett on Wednesday afternoon. Bennett appeared to have been shot to death, Officer Jason Gagnon with DeKalb County police said.
Bennett was last seen Dec. 29 at his home in the 800 block of Windsor Street in Atlanta, according to police. Bennett's family reported him missing to Atlanta police, according to the department's website.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, Gagnon said. Police have not identified any suspects in Bennett's killing.
