UPDATE: Local Blaxican food truck made it to the second round of top 25 of 50 food trucks in the nation for Thomas' Hometown Breakfast Battle: Food Truck Edition.

Fans will have until Sept. 25 to vote daily for Blaxican to make it to the top 10.

ORIGINAL STORY: In case you didn't know, Atlanta is home to the top food truck in the U.S.

The Blaxican food truck—owned by Atlanta's Will Turner—won Mobile-Cuisine's national competition last year by garnering the most votes in its "Food Truck Restaurant of the Year" contest.

This month, the Mexican soul food fusion truck is set to compete in yet another national competition, this time to create America's best breakfast recipe for Thomas' Hometown Breakfast Battle: Food Truck Edition.

For its second year hosting, Thomas is selecting 50 food trucks from 50 cities across the country.

Turner will be conjuring up a dish dubbed the "MexSoul Sunrise" featuring a Thomas' English muffin, pepper jelly, Mexican butter, eggs, salmon bacon and more mouth-watering toppings.

The inspiration behind the dish? His fiancé.

"It's got all of her favorite things," Turner told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  "After all, she's my official food taster and greatest critic." And of course, his biggest fan.

Even Snoop Dogg's a fan of the joint.

Turner, who grew up on Thomas' muffins in the Boston area, said winning the competition isn't just about bragging rights.
In fact, this contest is an opportunity for Blaxican to reopen its Alpharetta restaurant, which was recently forced to close because of overcrowding.
By potentially winning the contest and boosting business, he hopes he'll be able to remodel the space and open it back up again.
"It's my only chance," he said.

Blaxican enthusiasts (You too, Snoop!) will have one week in the first round to vote for the food truck online at ThomasBreakfastBattle.com, which went live for voting Monday, Sept. 12.

Voting daily also gives you a chance to win $5,000 plus free Thomas products, according to the website.

During the week, the truck will also be serving the breakfast dish for anyone interested in trying it out.
