A mixed-use project featuring 19 upper-story townhomes on the Beltline in the historic Fourth Ward is slated to break ground next week. The development will eventually feature 11 ground-floor retailers with four already named: Dancing Dogs Yoga, Beetnix Juice Bar, 18.21 Bitters craft cocktail bar and Hawkers Asian Street Fare.

Columbia Ventures Managing Partner Dillon Baynes said this week he expects to announce more retail tenants in early May.

The 31,000 square-foot, four-story structure is a joint development between Columbia and Studioplex. It is part of the nine-acre Studioplex on Auburn campus. Located 300 feet from Krog Street, Baynes said he believes this is the first brand-new building on the Beltline.

The townhomes will be three to four bedrooms, 2700 to 3100 square feet. They should go on sale this summer—price point hasn’t yet been determined—and ready for occupation next spring.

Columbia Ventures formed in 2013 and is currently developing its first four mixed-use campuses, including the Edgewood Candler Park MARTA station and the east Decatur transit-oriented development at the Avondale MARTA station.
