Scads of loyal Clermont Lounge patrons who were hoping to visit this weekend for the first time in ages will have to wait a little longer.

The famous Ponce de Leon Avenue basement strip club was hoping to get final approval from the city to open this weekend, and that sentiment was relayed to its ten of thousands of Facebook fans.

Alas, the opening has been delayed once again.

"We’ve hit a snag,” co-owner Kathi Martin said Wednesday afternoon, explaining that inspectors found an issue with the sprinkler system. Looking forward, Martin hopes the lounge will be able to open next weekend.

The Atlanta Fire Department could not immediately comment on the inspection Wednesday afternoon.

The wildly popular establishment closed at the start of the year to accommodate the redevelopment of the historic Clermont Motor Hotel into an upscale boutique hotel.
