Atlanta's weather Thursday and Friday will be about as good as it gets in January, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon temperatures some 5 to 10 degrees above normal, but there's a chance of rain by the weekend.
Weekend temperatures will still be well above normal, with highs in the mid-60s each day, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Minton said highs will be in the mid-50s on Thursday and low 60s on Friday. By 1 p.m. Thursday, Atlanta's temperature had climbed to 57.
Lows will be in the upper 30s early Friday and upper 40s Saturday and Sunday.
Atlanta's normal high for this part of January is around 52 degrees, the normal low 34.
The chance of rain is 40 percent on Saturday and Sunday, Minton said.
