Some scattered showers were expected to linger in the metro Atlanta area Friday night into Saturday morning, but then sunshine will take over.

Friday's precipitation had no thunder or lightning, "just a good rain," Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said.

By mid-morning Saturday, most of the rain will have moved out of the area, though there may be a stray shower or two, he said.

Saturday's high is expected to be 79, which is 10 degrees above the average this time of year, Chandley said.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 84, one off the record, he said.

Lows will be in the high 50s to low 60s throughout the weekend.

Monday is expected to be another warm day with a high of 86. Then rain is back in the forecast with a 30 percent chance Tuesday and a 60 percent chance Wednesday.
