Metro Atlanta residents could see up to four inches of snow this weekend.
A winter storm watch, which goes into effect at 7 p.m. Friday, is set to expire at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency warned people Thursday to prepare to stay at home for up to three days.

A winter storm that hit the metro Atlanta area in January 2014 left countless drivers stranded in their vehicles for hours. The storm, later known as Snowpocalypse or Snow Jam 2014, prompted Gov. Nathan Deal to declare a state of emergency for all 159 counties.
The winter storm that could dump as much as three inches of snow upon north Georgia this weekend will be yet another test of Gov. Nathan Deal's weather response strategy.
Here is what you should do if you are stuck in your car during a storm:
1. Stay inside your car, unless you see a building very close-by.
2. Run your engine intermittently and keep a window cracked to avoid carbon monoxide build-up.
3. Keep your seat belt on. Even if you have pulled over and are stopped, your car could still get hit by another vehicle. You don’t want to take the chance of being seriously injured should this happen.
4. Try to do a little exercise, stretch your arms and legs and move around a bit from time to time. This will help you stay warm. However, don’t overexert yourself.
5. Stay hydrated.
6. Keep the overhead light in your vehicle on, that way others (including rescuers) can see you.
