Quick-moving storms sparked several house fires, damaged mobile homes and may have a caused a motorcycle wreck Wednesday afternoon in Forsyth County.

The damaging weather rolled through around 5 p.m., and the county's firefighters were working to extinguish fires at two separate homes two hours later, Chief Jason Shivers with the Forsyth County Fire Department told the AJC.

Two other house fires believed to be storm-related were less serious, Shivers said.

Four mobile homes on Homestead Drive in Cumming also sustained significant damage, he said.

A motorcyclist was in stable condition following a wreck on Dahlonega Highway, north of Cumming, Shivers said. Investigators believe the weather contributed to the wreck.

Isolated, afternoon storms are again possible Thursday, according to Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns with Channel 2 Action News. Thursday's high temperature is expected to hit 96 degrees.
