It's less than two weeks before Christmas, but it feels more like Easter outside.

Wednesday's high temperature topped out at 70, Channel 2 chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. That's well short of the record high for the date, 74, set in 1948.

We did, however, see temperatures far above the average high on this date of 54.

Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said, "High pressure is just to our northeast and will provide dry air, plenty of sunshine and much warmer weather."

This time last year, things were far different.

"We had a record low of 14 degrees on this day last year," Channel 2 meteorologist David Chandley said.

The forecast calls temperatures to continue to be mild, with morning lows around 50 and afternoon highs in the mid-60s. There's a 40 percent chance of rain Friday.
