A frost advisory posted overnight for much of metro Atlanta has been canceled.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said cloud cover kept temperatures from dropping as low early Monday as forecasters had initially predicted.
Several mountain counties remained under a freeze warning until 9 a.m. as temperatures dipped below 32 degrees.
Temperatures at 5 a.m. across metro Atlanta included 34 degrees in Canton, 36 in Marietta and Peachtree City and 35 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Normal lows for early March are around 41 degrees.
Afternoon highs will be in the 60s through Wednesday, with overnight lows Monday and Tuesday nights in the 40s. There's a slight chance of rain Tuesday night, increasing to 90 percent on Wednesday.
The rain should end on Thursday, and be followed by temperatures again near the freezing mark on Thursday night.
