A frost advisory posted for several outlying counties was canceled  Wednesday morning when temperatures failed to drop as low as predicted.

Temperatures were in the upper 30s and 40s across metro Atlanta just before daybreak Wednesday, ranging from 39 in Canton to 43 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said that after the chilly start, temperatures are expected to warm to near 70 degrees under sunny afternoon skies.

The sunny conditions will continue into Thursday, but there's a chance of light rain or drizzle on Friday, Minton said.
