The man found shot to death Monday in the parking lot of a southeast Atlanta convenience store was identified Tuesday as Lamaurice Westbrook, 29, of Atlanta.

Authorities were flagged down just before 8 p.m. and alerted that a body was in a parking lot at Lakewood Avenue and Lethea Street, Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told the AJC.

The victim was shot at least twice, once in the face and once in the chest, Guerrucci said.

According to witness accounts, it is possible that the man was shot elsewhere and dumped at the scene, the officer said.

There are no suspects and police are trying to determine the motive.

The investigation is continuing.
