Two men were sentenced to life in prison plus 50 years after a Fulton County jury convicted them of shooting to death one man and wounding two others after one of the gunmen’s cable TV service was cut.

Antonio Harris and Geno West, both 27, each were found guilty of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges during a trial before Superior Court Judge Alford Dempsey. The jury returned its verdict Tuesday.

Harris had been receiving illegal cable TV service in his Fletcher Street duplex in May and June 2008 until the cable was cut, prosecutors said. He blamed his next-door neighbors in the other duplex unit for interrupting the service.

On July 1, 2008, Harris and West stormed into the other unit and opened fire on a group gathered there. Marcus Simpson, 28, who prosecutors described as an innocent bystander, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his stomach and head. Two other men were shot in the leg.

The two gunmen fled but were subsequently arrested: Harris, during the execution of a narcotics search warrant, and West, after trying to intimidate one of the state’s witnesses at a probation office, prosecutors said.
